icoMetrix has detected an increasing need in quantitave advanced image analysis in three strongly interacting markets: biomedical research, pharma (clinical trials) and clinical.
Biomedical Research
Advanced medical imaging is increasingly used in research institutions to study a wide range of disorders. Our customers can remain focused on the biology or medicine, while they can rely upon us for state-of-the-art image analysis, leading to better research. These projects allow us to define and validate new imaging biomarkers, that we will – with our customers – gradually carry from pre-clinical studies to clinical trials and finally to routine clinical use. For pre-clinical customers that do not have access to 3D imaging modalities, we partner with private or university small animal imaging centers throughout the world.
Pharma (Clinical trials)
It has already been extensively demonstrated that medical imaging will become increasingly important as an endpoint in clinical trials. Therefore, quantitative imaging promises earlier outcome detection and a reduced number of patients to include in the trial, compared to current practice using clinical endpoints.
We understand the need to identify both lack of efficacy and the potential for adverse reactions as soon as possible, since this would greatly increase the productivity of R&D, and accelerate the discovery and development of better medicines. By offering state-of-the-art image processing, such as non-affine registration, segmentation, automated group-analysis, etc., we aim to significantly reduce the costs and the time-to-market of our customers in the pharmaceutical industry. In this context, icoMetrix has a lot of experience with pre-clinical as well as clinical evaluation of conventional MR, CT, PET, and SPECT data sets and group-analysis of advanced quantitative images, such as perfusion weighted imaging, diffusion weighted imaging, diffusion tensor imaging, magnetic resonance spectroscopy, susceptibility weighted imaging, and functional magnetic resonance imaging.
It is our aim to build strong partnerships with CROs and pharmaceutical companies throughout the different stages of the drug development, offering pre-clinical, clinical, and longitudinal quantitative processing of imaging data sets.
Clinical
In the clinical market, we aim to act as a performance enhancement engine, so that our customers, such as medical imaging centers and hospitals, can deploy their valuable resources more efficiently.
Our strong experience in image processing of medical data sets, makes it possible to provide reliable and cutting-edge services to our clients. We offer quantitative image processing of advanced patient data sets, such as perfusion weighted imaging, diffusion weighted imaging, diffusion tensor imaging, magnetic resonance spectroscopy, functional magnetic resonance imaging, CT angiography, and tumor volume and follow-up measurements, to medical institutes. After uploading the medical data sets to our server system, our highly trained and experienced people will process them using FDA approved software, whereafter an extended report is sent back to the medical imaging center or hospital.
With our help, medical institutes can expand their performance in terms of the volume of cases that is handled, the revenue that is generated, as well as the possibility to offer advanced quantitative imaging to their patients. There is no need for these medical institutes to hire physicists, to buy expensive software, or to deploy expensive radiologists to do the time-consuming quantitative processing of data sets. We will do this for you more quickly, more accurately and more cost-effectively
